American Red Cross Smoke Alarm Tips

The Northern Miami Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross is urging families in Miami & Shelby Counties to install & maintain smoke alarms & follow these fire prevention tips. Check smoke alarms monthly by simply pushing the test button. Change batteries in your alarms at least once a year. Install a new battery immediately if an alarm chirps, warning the battery is low. Teach children what the smoke alarm sounds like and what to when they hear it. Never disable a smoke alarm. Properly installed & maintained smoke alarms save lives every day.
